Eureka! --The Premier Waterfront Vacation Rental on Chincoteague

It is in a class of its own. No other house on Chincoteague can legally accommodate nearly as many people. This is one of the most fabulous locations on Chincoteague and the views are amazing.

Handicapped Accessible:
Eureka! has an Elevator in the Main Building:

1). The opening in the elevator door when the accordion door is fully open: 33 inches

2). The depth of the elevator cab- 41 inches

3). The width of the elevator cab- 42 1/2 inches

and one of the king bedrooms in the main house has a shower area that is fully accessible via wheelchair.

Stupendous, Epic and Fantastic are words that almost begin to describe the site, the view, the intriguing custom design, and the amenities. We are continually making improvements; our goal is that those superlatives are also used by each guest to describe every aspect of their stay at Eureka! Several weddings have been held at Eureka! We have also hosted corporate retreats and yoga workshops.

Whether you have a large group for a family reunion/beach week or a more specialized group that needs to get together for some other reason, this is the place to be. Eureka! is quite literally right on, and over, the water! Two miles to the bridge to Assateague and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and the beach at Assateague. About a mile to the downtown area of Chincoteague.

Main House Sleeping Accommodations: (sleeps 12)
All 4 Bedrooms have private bathrooms. (3 have showers with custom tile work, one is a wheel-chair accessible shower room, and the only tub is in the kids' bunk room.)
3 Bedrooms have KING beds.
The 4th bedroom has two sets of bunk beds, with a full-size bed on the base of one set of bunks.
All bedrooms have private decks.
The Media Room has a Full-Size sleep sofa.
Five Bathrooms
The Main House Sleeps a maximum of 12 people.

Kitchen

This is a fully equipped, modern gourmet kitchen that can handle many cooks at once, with Granite Countertops, Custom Cabinets, two sinks, Dishwasher, Electric Range/Oven, Microwave, Stylish Stainless, and Glass Range Hood, Refrigerator with French Doors, Cuisinart (food processor), Blender, Toaster, Toaster oven, two coffee makers, Clam Steamer, Electric Beater, chef's knives, and much more... Many pots, pans, serving dishes, etc. Let us know if we missed something! Plus: An electric griddle for pancakes for everyone, and a slow cooker.

Guest House Sleeping Accommodations: (sleeps 6)
Guest House First floor: (sleeps 2)
The first floor of the smaller side of Eureka! offers maximum privacy for the special couple. Across the breezeway from the main house, it has a marvelous suite with a living room with a spectacular curved two story window wall, a fireplace, a spacious bedroom with a KING bed, a luxurious bath with a two person shower with body jets and a view, and a private porch facing south (there are no cooking facilities in the guest house).

Guest House Second floor: (sleeps 4)
The second floor of the Guest House increases the capacity of Eureka! to 18 people. There are two rooms on the 2nd floor, sharing one bath that has a shower. One room has a sleep sofa and a balcony right over the creek. The other room has two twin beds. There is an indoor balcony bridge-way connecting the 2nd-floor rooms to the 2nd-floor breeze-way, and into the main house great room.

Massive Great Room with Cathedral ceilings, and spectacular views in many directions. A two-zone central air-conditioning and electric heat pump system.
An Elevator.
Raised stone hearth gas fireplace.
Two decks, one open, one covered.
Separate media room with full size sleep sofa,
The Media room has the one TV in the house, which is a 55" Flat screen TV. There is also a DVD player.
Wireless Internet: We have Charter Spectrum and there is a broadband router for wireless. There are two Wireless Access Points in the House.
Stereo Sound throughout public areas, controlled in the media room

A separate laundry room (with a view!) on the first floor

Warning! If you have young toddlers not yet at the "age of reason", you will need to exercise total vigilance when they are anywhere near the water's edge, which is pretty much anywhere on the outdoor ground level at the house. Some guests have asked if we have plans to put up a child-proof railing. The answer is NO. It is simply not possible to child-proof our dock and surrounding areas. When you look at the photos of the decks & docks, you will see why.

On the Second level, off the great room, one deck is covered; the other is not. Each has a dining area, so you have 3 choices of eating locations.

Kayak & canoe launching, from the floating dock. If you have a larger boat, you can launch it at the public dock and tie it up right at the house. During the summer, we keep a canoe, two 2-person kayaks, and several Stand-Up Paddle Boards on the floating dock for shared use by guests from both Eureka! and Epiphany.
Covered storage areas for your bikes and toys.
High-Speed Internet: There are two wireless access points, so wi-fi coverage is good everywhere.
